Many people have portable power banks that can charge their phones. For iPhone 12, 13, 14, and 15 users, wireless battery packs that use Apple’s MagSafe technology are an easier and smarter way to charge their phones without cables.
These days, you need to have a portable charging source for your phone because the batteries tend to die just when you’re leaving a power source. It’s annoying that most power banks come with a wire that you have to carry around with you.
However, wireless power banks have a big drawback: because wireless charging isn’t very efficient, you need a large power bank to fully charge an iPhone that’s almost dead.
One of them charges my iPhone quickly next to my bed, so I can use it and charge it at the same time without having to worry about the length of the cord. One is always in my bag so I can charge it while I’m out and about.

About 20% of Qi power is lost when the phone and charge pad are not placed correctly. The MagSafe connection is accurate enough to make wireless charging work better. Standard Qi wireless charging can drain up to 50% of the power from a portable battery. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, on the other hand, drain “only” 30% of the power.
Even though MagSafe isn’t as fast as charging a phone with a cord, it’s a step toward true wireless charging, which means we won’t need cables at all.

A power bank that is MagSafe Certified can be charged electronically at up to 15W. “Compatible” magnetic chargers that haven’t been tested can only handle 7.5W, so they will charge more slowly. Each portable power bank can be charged at a different speed for the iPhone and for the power bank itself (Input charger). If you plug in a wire to some power banks, they can charge your phone faster. We’ve marked those below.

This iPhone power bank had an impressive capacity, allowing it to fully recharge an iPhone 15 Pro twice in our tests. It outperformed other power banks, with the Anker MagGo Power Bank coming up as a close second. We deplete the iPhone battery to 10%, replenish it using the power bank, then repeat this process until the power bank is fully discharged.
This device is compatible with MagSafe and has the ability to charge an iPhone wirelessly at a rate of 7.5W. When connected via USB-C, it can charge at a faster rate of 30W, which is the highest we have observed so far. What sets this power bank apart is its compact USB-C connector that enables quick charging of an iPhone 15 or recharging the power bank itself. The 5.5-inch cable may be conveniently inserted into the USB-C connection of the battery pack for effortless portability.
It will be compatible with any MagSafe iPhone (12/13/14/15) through wireless connectivity. Comparable in size to the previously reviewed Baseus Magnetic Power Bank, the Anker MagGo Power Bank (10K) fell somewhat short in terms of recharging capacity but still demonstrated commendable performance.
Where it surpasses the Baseus is in the velocity of wireless charging. The Baseus charger is only capable of 7.5W wireless charging as it is MagSafe compatible. On the other hand, the Anker charger is approved for the new Qi2 standard, allowing it to enable 15W wireless charging. This is compatible with all devices that utilize MagSafe, ranging from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 15. (Please be aware that although the iPhone 12 does not have official support for Qi2, testing conducted by Macworld on the iPhone 12 indicate that it is compatible with Qi2.)
The Baseus power bank has a little higher cabled charging specification (30W compared to Anker’s 27W), but the disparity is insignificant. The inclusion of an integrated USB-C cable with the Baseus is appreciated, but, the Anker may utilize any high-quality USB-C charging cable to efficiently fast-wired-charge an iPhone.
In addition to offering faster wireless charging, the Anker device includes two useful features that are absent in the Baseus model: an LED display that provides an accurate indication of the remaining battery charge, and a sturdy retractable stand located at the back.

The Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 5K + Stand is a top-notch small battery pack with a built-in stand that is compatible with MagSafe technology.
If you prefer a power bank that is more compact and lightweight, but still offers a decent recharging capacity, we suggest considering either the Belkin BoostCharge or the Anker MagGo 622. These options come with a stand and are suitable alternatives to power banks with a greater capacity of 10000mAh. Both devices are equipped with 5000mAh batteries, however, in our direct comparison testing, the Belkin outperformed the Anker by recharging a depleted iPhone 13 Pro up to 90%, while the Anker only managed to recharge it up to 80%.
The Belkin kickstand is more user-friendly and durable, and the battery pack itself is slightly smaller in size. Although we still have a favorable opinion of the Anker 622, as mentioned in the review below, the Belkin power bank with MagSafe kickstand emerges as the superior choice.

The Raycon 5-in-1 Power Bank is larger and more aggressive in design compared to the Baseus Magnetic Power Bank. It has the capability to charge five devices at the same time: two devices can be charged via the USB-C and USB-A ports, one device may be charged wirelessly with MagSafe, and two devices can be charged using the built-in cables.
During our tests, the battery charging performance of the Baseus was almost identical to that of the device being compared. Specifically, it was able to charge an iPhone 15 Pro almost twice before running out of power.
The product asserts a 15W wireless power capability, however, it lacks formal certification from Apple. Nevertheless, the device does display the MagSafe charging emblem when charging starts, suggesting that it may have bypassed the certification process while still offering a rapid wireless charging experience.
The device is equipped with integrated U.S. plug prongs, allowing it to be directly connected to a power socket without the need for a separate USB-C charger. While customers in the U.S. or Canada can use this without any issues, overseas users will need to utilize the USB-C port together with a travel adapter. However, there is a possibility that the adapter may not fit securely into the power socket, resulting in instability.
Additionally, the product includes two output cables: a USB-C connector designed for iPhone 15 and a Lightning cable compatible with older iPhones and Apple devices. If you do not possess any gadgets that use Lightning connectors, then this product will be unnecessary. However, your friends who have older iPhones may express gratitude if they require a power source. This alternative is similar in terms of size and weight, and it has a built-in USB-C cable, a USB-C connector, and a wireless charging pad. The Raycon can accommodate up to five devices, however the Journey can only handle three. However, the Journey does come with plug heads for the U.S., U.K., and E.U. & Australia/New Zealand. The 5K Belkin charger was able to recharge a depleted iPhone 13 Pro by 90%, while the 10K Benks charger increased its battery level by an impressive 160%.
Additionally, it features two USB ports. The battery pack can be recharged using the USB-C connector with a power of 20W. Additionally, the same port may be used for quicker cable charging, also at 20W, when you need to quickly charge the device. The additional USB-A connector has a charging capacity of 18W, allowing you to charge up to three devices simultaneously at satisfactory speeds.

After conducting extensive testing, we have found that this particular MagSafe wireless charger stands out as the most compact option available for charging both iPhones and Apple Watches. Additionally, it also functions as a power bank. The Alogic Lift 4-in-1 MagSafe Power Bank shares many similarities with another product, although it does not include the vertical charging station or the capability to charge AirPods. The OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank with MagSafe is a more efficient charging option that is also bigger in size. Both will be evaluated and discussed in the following sections.
Indeed, this wireless power bank is slightly bigger and noticeably heavier compared to the majority of the power banks evaluated here. However, it offers a clever solution for situations when you are without access to a power outlet and both of your Apple devices notify you of the alarming Low Power Mode recommendation.
The charging module of the Apple Watch emerges from the rear of the power bank’s retractable stand and is sufficiently sturdy to endure travel inside a bag. The charging rate is 2W instead of 5W, which means it does not support Apple Watch Fast Charge. Although it shares similarities, it does not have the AirPods charging pad that the OneGo has. However, it does have two USB ports, whereas the OneGo just has a single input/output port.
The USB-C connector serves as an input or enables quicker wired charging for iPhones (18W), while the USB-A port is intended for older charging connections. You have the option to utilize either port for charging your AirPods or another iPhone. Although it is possible to utilize both simultaneously, the act of charging via USB at the same time results in a decrease in power output to a mere 5 watts.
The Apple Watch charging module, which is sturdy when folded, has a charging capacity of 3W instead of 5W. As a result, it does not support Apple Watch Fast Charge. However, it is slightly faster than the 2W OneGo Watch charger.
If the AirPods charging pad is not necessary, the Alogic Lift is just as capable and proficient as the OneGo.

It includes a removable USB-C cable, a USB-C port, and a wireless charging pad. Additionally, it can be directly plugged into a wall power socket.
The Raycon does not have an additional Lightning cable, which is only beneficial for owners of iPhones older than the iPhone 15 or for charging older AirPods cases. Additionally, it has one less spare USB-C port and does not have a USB-A port.
One area where it surpasses the Raycon is in its provision of international plug heads that may be attached to the built-in US prongs. The product includes a convenient travel bag to ensure all components are kept together. This is particularly useful because the attractive white finish could potentially be damaged if placed at the bottom of a backpack.
With a USB-C connection, it has the capability to charge at a maximum rate of 35W. This makes it suitable for charging a 13-inch MacBook when connected to a power outlet. The wireless charger does not function when the Axie is used as a wall charger.
Charging an iPhone with USB-C is undeniably the most expedient method. When charging three devices, the power of 15W is divided between the two USB-C ports, while an additional 7.5W is used for wireless charging.

Our testing Methodology
The MagSafe charger was tested on an iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro, both connected to a 5G network and WiFi. The phones were in standby mode with the screen turned off and all settings set to their default values.
The purpose of our test is to compare the performance of different batteries in terms of their ability to recharge. We let our test-unit iPhone Pro, which has a battery capacity of 3,095mAh, to discharge until it reached a low level of 10%. Subsequently, we activated the Battery Pack to commence the process of recharging the phone.
Subsequently, we evaluated the charger’s performance by assigning it a score based on the percentage of iPhone battery it successfully charged, deducting 10%. We conducted a minimum of two tests for each model.
This test does not accurately simulate real-world scenarios where individuals typically use their phones for a variety of tasks with varying battery consumption, in different ambient conditions, and under diverse network setups.
However, it does provide us with a standardized scoring system that we can utilize to compare various battery-pack models.
